A question. Don’t they get penalized by search engines for continuously adding duplicate content on your site/blog? Isn’t it sort of black hat?

It is recommended that you slowly add content, as in one article a day maximum so as not to be too noticable to the search engines. Duplicate content in my opinion is fine, that’s why article directories are so popular. Of course, if you were concerned you could always edit the wording and rewrite the article before posting.
I was told by an SEO person that duplicate content doesn’t count. It doesn’t really hurt you, but it doesn’t help you either.
