There are thousands of Wordpress Plugins out there and here is a list of my favourites, hopefully they could be useful to others too; they aren’t in any order of preference just alphabetical. If you have any additional plugins you really like and think I have missed, it would be great to receive your comments.

  1. AddToAny: Share/Bookmark/Email Button
    Help readers share, bookmark, and email your posts and pages using any service
  2. Advanced Adsense
    A simple plugin to help make your Google AdSense Ads display better, more relevant ads.
  3. Akismet
    Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not. You need a WordPress.com API key to use it. You can review the spam it catches under “Comments.”
  4. All in One SEO Pack
    Out-of-the-box SEO for your Wordpress blog
  5. Comment Notifier
    Let blog visitors to subscribe to comment threads, receiving an email in their mailbox on new comments
  6. Easy Privacy Policy
    Automatically adds a privacy policy page that includes an Adsense compliancy section. (See privacy policy article here)
  7. Google Analyticator
    Adds the necessary JavaScript code to enable Google’s Analytics
  8. Google Analytics Dashboard
    Google Analytics graph integration so you can see your analytics next to each post in admin
  9. Google XML Sitemaps

  10. TweetPost
    Integrates your wordpress blog with your twitter account, automatically posting to twitter when a new post is made on your blog
  11. Widget Context
    Display different widgets on different pages. If you have a very short page you may not want 20 widgets down your right hand bar, this widget means you can choose just to show one on this page only.
  12. WP Minify
    This plugin uses the Minify engine to combine and compress JS and CSS files to improve page load time.
